Nestled at the foot of a charming Norman Castle, Acicastello looks like a small but pretty seaside resort.
It has a lava beach with beautiful seabeds; its coastline, with lemons, agaves and palm trees, and the background of the castle or the stacks of Acitrezza, is one of the most portrayed by artists in Sicily.
Its Norman Castle was built on a gigantic rock overlooking the sea, the only one of its kind, emerged during ancient volcanic eruptions preceding the formation of Etna.
Acicastello is a very popular point for diving.
Its depths are wonderful for nature and archaeologically interesting (in its waters have been found remains of greek anchors and roman ships).
In Acicastello you can enjoy the sea, swim, sunbathe and dive, or simply stroll through the streets of the town and enjoy some good fish dishes.
