Built in 1671, this public wash house is one of the oldest buildings in the Cibali quarter.
It is fed, like the nearby fountain, by the river Lògnina, which flows into the subsoil.
Just under the Cibali district there are many small watercourses belonging to that river which were exploited by the people of Catania.
The wash-house is often closed to the public, but it is possible to observe it outside.
