The castle of Marineo, or Beccadelli castle, was built in 1553 by Gilberto Beccadelli from Bologna on a fortress that was previously built by order of Charles of Anjou.
Thanks to this construction, the village of Marineo was born.
Despite the passage of time the castle has lost its importance, but it has never been abandoned.
The castle is made up of many rooms; the largest ones are on the second elevation and have large barrel vaults.
In the prospect of the tower there is a large clock.
The staircase inside the tower leads to the ceiling.
The loggia is a beautiful environment with elegant arches; on the entrance door there is the coat of arms of Beccadelli.
The visit to the castle is free.
