Since 2002 the Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista is a World Heritage Site.
Is not known the name of its architect.
Its construction began in 1718.
It has a majestic facade, with columns that divide it into five parts full of carvings and sculptures.
Inside it is decorated with baroque and rococo stuccoes.
Are very admirable the dome, the flooring and the carvings of the organ.
In the museum of the Cathedral there are numerous objects of great beauty, including reliquaries, goldsmiths, sacred vestments, liturgical texts, paintings and statues.
It's possible to visit the bell tower, about fifty meters high: a privileged point of view towards this beautiful town.
Today we discover...
Salinelle del Fiume
Mud craters on the bank of the Simeto
