On the hill overlooking the ancient Eloro there is this solitary column, probably dating back to the III century BC.
Its functionality is not known; maybe it could be a monument to remember some Greek victories nearby, or maybe it could be a funeral monument (the archaeologist Paolo Orsi found the skeletons of two knights of the Greek epoch nearby) or it could be the end of sign of the ancient Via Elorina.
A plaque recalls the restoration carried out in 1795 at the behest of Ferdinand of Bourbon.
