This palace is made up of the remains of the ancient granaries of the now-lost Castle of Terranova.
Currently it's used for cultural meetings.
The castle had a four-sided plan and four towers at the corners, of which two windows and a double-arch opening survive in the south-east tower, visible inside the Palazzo Ducale.
Inside the courtyard have been found vestiges of ancient structures from different eras; medieval, classical and archaic.
Ancient sacks and artistic terracotta have come to light; cisterns, walls and even a stretch of road built with river pebbles, two meters wide, with a north-south orientation.
Today we discover...
The oldest dam in Sicily
