St George's Portal is the only remains of the ancient cathedral of Ragusa, destroyed by the terrible earthquake of 1693.
Built in the second half of the fourteenth century, in magnificent Gothic-Catalan style, is surmounted by a beautiful arch formed by columns.
Today it is a symbolic monument of Ragusa.
In the center, San Giorgio in the act of killing the dragon.
The arch is also adorned with many figures that present the arts and crafts, as well as monstrous figures that reproduce the medieval bestiaries.
