Ibla is the hub of Ragusa, its most fascinating district thanks to its many palaces and churches.
It extends on a small hill.
After the 1693 earthquake it was entirely rebuilt in Baroque style.
In the easternmost part there is the Giardino Ibleo and there are also the excavations of the ancient city, called Hybla.
Ragusa Ibla is home to some important events such as "Ibla Buskers", street artists festival, the "Ibla Grand Prize" music competition and the "International Organ Festival".
Many scenes from the television series "Il commissario Montalbano" were filmed in the streets of this beautiful baroque town, as well as the scenes of "L'uomo delle stelle" by Giuseppe Tornatore.
So, if you visit Ragusa, do not miss a walk through the streets of Ibla.
