Savoca was founded in the first half of the twelfth century by King Roger II.
It was brilliant in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries.
The city preserves in its territory vestiges of medieval, renaissance and baroque origins.
Savoca has also been chosen as a set for the famous film series "Il Padrino": you can visit the famous "Bar Vitelli".
