In this corner of the Mineo cemetery, the writer Luigi Capuana rests.
He was born on May 28, 1839 in Mineo and was among the most important literary figures of his period thanks to the contribution that he gave to the veristic current.
His novel "Giacinta" is considered the manifesto of Italian realism.
Also remarkable "The Marquis of Roccaverdina", the novellas inspired by Sicilian life and fairy tales.
He obtained the chair of lexicography and stylistics at the University of Catania.
He died in Catania on 29 November 1915.
